In the spirit of fall knitting I thought I heard you had an interest in a tabletop spinner. I also am new to spinning and have been using drop spindles since the beginning of the year and loving it. I recently got an eel wheel from dreaming robots. It very cost effective with many helpful videos on set up and use. I’m in love with it and would highly recommend it. My only shock was when I open the box and saw all the parts I was overwhelmed, however when I saw the set up video and realized a lot of the pieces were actually replacement parts if needed, it was a piece of cake. Check it out!!
Your last post had me wanting to crochet a pumpkin and now I'm desperate for a honeycomb blanket. My crochet skills are pretty minimal but I am definitely going to have a go at a hexagon.
I would love to try that meat pie minus the mushrooms! (My fruit is marinating in its bath of Triple Sec and orange juice. I will feed with Grande Marnier. Both are orange flavoured liqueurs, but Triple Sec is cheaper and most of it will evaporate in the baking, I think. Thought I would try orange liqueur this year.)
Even though I hate the dark and cold in general, the idea of knitting in a cozy, candle lit living room when the snow is swirling around outside has its appeal when there is no place that you need to be. (Driving in a blizzard or even just a regular snow storm is not fun, fyi.)
Martyn, thank you for setting the mood—— Fall is always my favorite time of year—- starting off with the MKAL and continuing work on my “JELLY ROLL BLANKET “. Knitting always says COZY to me. Pumpkin spice candles, pumpkin spice cream in my coffee, and occasionally a pumpkin spice donut. Most of all, enjoying the color changing leaves and crisp fall air. Welcome Fall !!!!
OOOH it has taken me a few days to read this blog it has been busy here but ooooh the coziness! Whilst we have had a couple of very hot 30 degree days it is hard to imagine the coolness of the UK autumn but I certainly remember it from my time living there. I just love the colour and warmth of that crochet blanket Martyn. The candle lighting sounds divine especially with the wooden wicks.. I must look for those. We don't really get autumn or even a real winter here in Queensland so it is lovely to see your gorgeous warm pictures and very inviting food!! Richard would love love those pies!!

This is so good to know…I’ve been considering the e-spinner!
Oh thank you for that tip, I'll check them out - Santa has agreed to see if the elves can get me a table top one!
